Responsibilities

Our client is looking for a Systems/Cloud Integration Architect to join their team! As a Principal Architect/Cloud Architect working on a large federal enterprise integration program within a fast-paced environment, your expertise and experience will be relied upon to lead and support the design and optimization of complex AWS and Azure Cloud architecture, solutions, and cloud-based applications, architecting robust redundant infrastructure, implementing container-based systems, securing Cloud environments, and interfacing with government customers to provide high-impact software solutions. You will be expected to use Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and Azure services such as Active Directory B2C and Key Vault; to collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype new technologies; develop solutions for system integration; and contribute significantly to future architectural vision creation and planning. You will help drive innovation through the exploration and adoption of emerging technologies, providing thought leadership in Cloud architecture, and mentoring junior team members. Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience providing systems development and integration expertise
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required or three (3) additional years of relevant experience can be substituted in lieu of degree
  • Prior experience providing IT services/support to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is required
  • Must have extensive experience working with AWS and Azure to include:
    • Architecting, designing and instantiating Infrastructure robust redundant, fault tolerant infrastructure
    • Implementing container-based systems to optimizing intricate enterprise solutions
    • Creating and managing container and Container Environments using Docker & Kubernetes services
    • Securing Cloud environments from internal as well as external threats
    • Deep working knowledge of AWS & Azure security services and resources
    • Working withing an Agile framework supporting continuous delivery
  • Must have experience:
    • Developing proof-of-concept solutions
    • Interacting with Government clients’ leadership, managers, end-users and other key stakeholders
    • Developing and presenting technical and operational suggestions and recommendations for high-impact software solutions
    • Collaborating with key stakeholders and creating realistic and achievable vision roadmaps
    • Documenting new architectures using best practices and industry standards
    • Deconstructing existing integration solutions and redesigning for optimal performance using state of the art tools and technologies

Preferred Requirements

There is a strong preference for candidates with the following additional experience:

  • Designing and implementing containerized software solutions and applications
  • Enterprise-based architectural design expertise
  • Cloud-based services & technologies within/for AWS: Kubernetes, Kubernetes Clusters, OpenShift, and EKS
  • AWS Security, Identity and Compliance Services
  • Azure Service:
    • Active Directory B2C
    • Microsoft Entra ID, Entra Domain Services & MFA
    • Defender & Sentinel
    • Key Vault
    • Storage encryption
    • SQL Firewall
    • SQL Connection & Database Encryption

Education/Certification Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required or three (3) additional years of relevant experience can be substituted in lieu of degree
  • An AWS or Azure Certified Solutions Architect is required
  • PLUS one or more of the following certifications is required:
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
    • Azure Solutions Architect Expert
    • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
    • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Clearance Requirements

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; the ability to obtain a Public Trust is required.
