Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a PeopleSoft Developer to join their team and to support their client in Alexandria, VA! The purpose of this job is to develop and maintain PeopleSoft applications for the Office of Secretary of Defense, Director Administration & Management. In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including application development, performance tuning, and ensuring effective integration with other systems. You will also play a crucial role in cross-functional projects, providing your technical expertise and clear communication.

• Serve as the PeopleSoft technical expert, participating in cross-functional projects, handling customization and configuration, and providing clear and concise communication
  • (Application has both Unclassified/FOUO and SECRET instances)
• Ensure application security and audit compliance through code review and application testing
• Develop and manage internal and external interfaces, ensuring seamless integration
• Design, code, and test new PeopleSoft applications and features
• Support the software development lifecycle by conducting code reviews and applying best practices
• Define and implement system specifications to optimize workflow, access, and information security
• Actively monitor application performance, analyze data, and make adjustments to improve efficiency
  • Troubleshoot issues related to application, database, and integration
• Manage version control of application code and apply updates and patches to the PeopleSoft environment
• Document all application configurations, procedures, and changes to maintain transparency and manageability
• Maintain compliance with RMF Security Classification "Medium, Medium and Medium" for confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) (formerly DIACAP Mission Assurance Category (MAC) Level III) IA controls in accordance with DoDI 8500.01, Cyber Security
• Develop and maintain PeopleSoft applications with DoD Consolidated Access Card (CAC) authentication, using PeopleCode and other technologies
• Document and report development activities and progress to the Program Manager regularly

Requirements

• Knowledge of, and experience with, PeopleSoft applications (HCM, CRM, Financials, etc.) on the 9.2 platform or higher and PeopleTools 8.55 or above
• Experience as a PeopleSoft developer in complex, integrated, and customized environments
• Required experience includes:
  • PeopleSoft application development on Windows servers and Oracle databases
  • SQL performance tuning
  • PeopleTools, including Application Designer and PeopleCode
  • Managing PeopleSoft applications in a load-balanced environment
  • SSL certificate management within a PeopleSoft context
• Integration using PeopleSoft Integration Broker
• Knowledge of encryption technologies like OpenSSL
• Effective communication of technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
• Experience adhering to service level agreements for high-priority tasks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to inspire and motivate at various levels of the organization
• Ability to explain technical details to non-technical individuals
• Demonstrated experience with cross-functional collaboration

Preferred Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree is preferred
• A PeopleSoft Developer certification highly preferred

• Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active Secret clearance is required. - This federal program requires the candidate to maintain T5 Security Background Investigation, in order to obtain IT Level I access.
