Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a skilled Platform Security Engineer to manage and enhance their AWS cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on Identity Access Management (IAM). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in AWS services such as IAM, KMS, and S3, coupled with a solid background in Python, Linux, and Bash scripting. This role will play a crucial part in writing IAM policies, managing users and roles, and configuring S3 permissions and policies, ensuring the security and integrity of the cloud environment.
- Manage and configure AWS services, including IAM, KMS, and S3, to support and secure cloud infrastructure
- Develop, implement, and maintain IAM policies, manage users and roles, and configure S3 permissions and policies
- Utilize Python and Linux expertise to support and maintain the package mirror, ensuring efficient and secure operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AWS services and cloud infrastructure
- Use Bash scripting to automate tasks, enhance efficiency, and streamline troubleshooting processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure and compliant cloud operations
- Monitor and assess the security of cloud infrastructure, identifying and mitigating risks as necessary
- Stay up-to-date with emerging AWS technologies and best practices in cloud security
Requirements
- Proven experience in managing AWS services, including IAM, KMS, and S3
- Strong background in Python and Linux, with specific experience supporting and maintaining package mirrors
- Proficiency in Bash scripting for automation and troubleshooting
- In-depth understanding of Identity Access Management (IAM) practices, including writing policies, managing users and roles, and configuring S3 permissions and policies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with other AWS services and tools for cloud security and management
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
- Knowledge of cloud compliance standards and best practices
- Experience in a DoD or government cloud environment
Education/Certification Requirements
- Current DoD 8570 Certification is required
Clearance Requirements
- Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active Interim Secret clearance or above is required
