Summary

At Precision Solutions, we are seeking an experienced Electronics Technician, Mid to join our team and support law enforcement investigations by providing critical troubleshooting and engineering analysis on electronic devices. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to conduct advanced technical solutions for a broad range of partners, including law enforcement, military services, and international organizations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct testing on electronic or electrical devices using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, RF signal generators, waveform generators, audio analyzers, DSP analyzers, and multimeters
  • Perform in-depth analysis, generate schematics, and troubleshoot devices down to the component level under various conditions
  • Apply knowledge of electronic circuit design and PCB layout to characterize electronic devices
  • Prepare written documents such as reports, test plans, design specifications, requirements documents, and training materials
  • Brief and present findings to clients, customers, and external partners, while interacting with client engineers to address technical questions and requests

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience testing electronic or electrical devices using standard lab equipment
  • 1+ years of experience analyzing and troubleshooting electronic or electrical devices to the component level
  • Knowledge of electronic circuit design and PCB layout
  • Ability to prepare technical documentation and present findings to clients and external partners

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with Chain of Custody and evidence handling procedures in a forensic laboratory
  • Experience with imaging, extracting, and parsing data from electronic devices
  • Experience with reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro, OllyDbg, or Ghidra
  • Knowledge of inter-IC communication interfaces, including I2C, SPI, LPC, or PCIe
  • Knowledge of microcontroller architecture, including ARM or RISC-V, and assembly language programming
  • Knowledge of programming in Python, C, and C++

Education/Certification Requirements

  • An Associate's degree in electronics or a related technical field is required

Clearance Requirements

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active Top Secret clearance is required.
