Summary

At Precision Solutions, we are seeking a Low Voltage Technician to install cat(x) wire, access control systems, fiber optic cabling, and other low voltage items. This role also involves performing fiber optic splicing, testing, analysis, and repair on both new and active fiber optic networks. The technician will also assist with network construction activities before installation and splicing.

 

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret work orders, specifications, engineering drawings, and cut sheets to determine tasks and sequence of work
  • Install and trim low voltage wiring, including cat5/6, access control systems, and speaker setups
  • Perform loose tube splicing to industry standards and customer specifications
  • Conduct testing using power meters, OTDRs, and other industry-standard equipment
  • Construct industry-standard splice enclosures, ensuring proper grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage, and sealing
  • Safely enter, maintain, and exit splice enclosures
  • Perform splicing in indoor and outdoor environments, ensuring all work meets customer specifications
  • Conduct physical construction work such as digging holes, working in vaults, placing, and laying cable and conduit
  • Ensure all tasks consider the safety of all involved parties

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with low voltage wiring
  • Must be reliable and able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent reading skills to comprehend construction warning signs and work orders
  • Strong attention to detail and safety practices
  • Ability to work in high-stress environments and extreme weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects, walk, stand, bend, and kneel for long periods of time, often in adverse field conditions
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy objects, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds

Clearance Requirements

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active Top Secret clearance is required.
