Additionally, our client designs, builds, operates, and secures scalable cloud and IT infrastructures to meet their customers’ near-term needs and fulfill their long-term requirements.

Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a Technical Lead for a Data Science Application to oversee the technical design, development, and deployment of secure and maintainable capabilities on AWS cloud infrastructure. This role is integral in leading a development team and driving the technical product vision for mission-critical operations. The Technical Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data sources, manage infrastructure, and deliver tailored analytics. Strong leadership, technical expertise, and communication skills are essential.

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of data science applications across AWS cloud infrastructure
• Manage a team of 5-8 developers, guiding their day-to-day technical assignments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, solution architects, and DevSecOps engineers, to ensure high availability, performance, and system resiliency
• Develop technical architecture and translate business needs into governance artifacts and product backlog items
• Oversee the implementation, tuning, and troubleshooting of AWS services, networks, OS, and PKI
• Design and implement containerization resources using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform
• Create and maintain automated system management and monitoring capabilities for resiliency and self-healing
• Conduct code, configuration, and architecture reviews to ensure adherence to best practices
• Partner with government product owners and data science teams to strategize system design and implementation
• Work with AI/ML models and analytics, ensuring they integrate seamlessly into cloud products

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree + 4 years of experience, or Associate’s degree + 6 years of experience, or Master’s degree + 2 years of experience, or 8 years of practical experience is required
• Experience leading application development on AWS platforms, from MVP to production deployment
• Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure ARM Templates
• Experience with secure government networks (e.g., NIPR, SIPR, A-LAN, C-LAN)
• Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages
• Experience with AI/ML model development, training, and evaluation
• Familiarity with centralized log configuration, monitoring tools, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
• Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and certificate management
• Ability to work on-site 60% of the time at a client SCIF in Washington, D.C.

Preferred Requirements

• 2 years of experience building and maintaining systems within AWS
• Experience incorporating AI/ML models into cloud products and shepherding prototypes from POC to production
• Familiarity with event-based systems and asynchronous message queue infrastructure
• Experience with AWS Top-Secret Cloud (i.e., C2S/C2E)
• Experience working in a Scrum-based task/team structure (i.e., SAFe Agile 6.0)
• Familiarity with the Intelligence Community (IC) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)

Education/Certification Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree + 4 years of experience, or Associate’s degree + 6 years of experience, or Master’s degree + 2 years of experience, or 8 years of practical experience is required

Clearance Requirements

• Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a SCI is required. Please be aware that onboarding can take 4-6 weeks for this position.
