About The Job
We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant specializing in Ansible for RHEL to support a major automation initiative in alignment with the Operationally Ready AAP and push-to-production strategies. The role is critical in accelerating infrastructure automation across Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments and contributing to the migration from Puppet to Ansible-based solutions.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Ansible, strong RHEL systems knowledge, a solid understanding of Puppet, and infrastructure automation experience—particularly with networking components and services.
Job Duties:
Design, develop, and implement Ansible automation for RHEL infrastructure.
Lead the migration effort from Puppet to Ansible, including playbook conversion and best practices.
Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
Integrate Ansible workflows with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control.
Participate in change management and production release cycles (push to production).
Support the client's goal of operational readiness and production-grade automation.
Document automation workflows and contribute to knowledge transfer and training efforts.
Troubleshoot complex issues across RHEL and networking stacks.
Provide strategic input into automation architecture and enterprise automation policies.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience with RHEL systems administration and automation.
3+ years of hands-on experience with Ansible, including Ansible Tower/AWX.
Working knowledge of Puppet, with proven experience in migration projects or interoperability.
Strong experience in infrastructure automation, especially for network appliances, services, and dependencies.
Solid understanding of Linux networking, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, load balancers, etc.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools, Git, and scripting (Bash, Python preferred).
Experience working in production environments with change control and release processes.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced DevOps culture.
