Responsibilities

Our client is looking for a Citrix Engineer to join their team! This role focuses on building and engineering Citrix-based Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions in a secure enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on architect and subject matter expert in Citrix technologies, not just an end-user or system administrator. This is a high-impact position supporting mission-critical systems for an intelligence customer in Springfield, VA.

• Design, configure, and maintain globally accessed Citrix-based VDI environments

• Provide Tier 3/4 engineering support to system administrators and assist with complex issue resolution

• Troubleshoot performance and integration issues across the virtual desktop infrastructure

• Optimize desktop configurations for platform interoperability and act as liaison between infrastructure components

• Maintain advanced expertise in administration, engineering, and implementation of Citrix technologies

• Contribute to system design, integration, identity lifecycle management, and process automation

• Operate across multiple complex production environments with various stakeholders

• Conduct trade studies and provide recommendations on VDI solutions and platform decisions

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Citrix VDI environments, including progressive roles from Administrator to Engineer with a BS degree or a combination of years of experience and education

• Hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops v7.15 and later

• Experience with Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) and Machine Creation Services (MCS)

• Familiarity with Citrix Cloud Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD)

• Working knowledge of Citrix Netscaler / ADC / VPX

• Experience with Citrix Workspace Environment Management (WEM) and Citrix App Layering

• Proficiency with Liquidware Profile Unity

• Experience with virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V and VMware VDI

Education/Certification Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Citrix VDI environments, including progressive roles from Administrator to Engineer with a BS degree or a combination of years of experience and education

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing Windows Server clustering and Group Policies
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Experience with System Center Virtual Machine Manager or VMware vCenter 6.7
• Knowledge of Active Directory, home directory, and profile management
• Experience in desktop software provisioning and lifecycle support
