Responsibilities
Our client is looking for an Azure Engineer to join their team! This senior-level role will focus on designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable Microsoft Azure solutions to support enterprise workloads and mission-critical services. The ideal candidate will lead modernization initiatives in hybrid or fully cloud environments while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive governance, automation, and performance.
Design and implement Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions for enterprise workloads
Develop cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform
Collaborate with security, networking, and DevOps teams to enforce governance and compliance standards
Troubleshoot and optimize performance across Azure services including VMs, App Services, Azure Functions, and AKS
Support hybrid environments through tools such as Azure Arc, Azure Stack, and ExpressRoute
Manage identity and access using Azure Active Directory, RBAC, and Conditional Access
Apply FinOps principles to monitor and optimize cloud spend
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture reviews and planning initiatives
Requirements
5+ years of experience in systems engineering, with at least 3+ years focused on Microsoft Azure
Expert knowledge of Azure compute, storage, networking, identity, and security services
Proficient in scripting and automation with PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM, Bicep, or Terraform
Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST, or HIPAA
Experience with Azure monitoring and logging tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Sentinel
Education/Certification Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent
Experience in hybrid or multi-cloud environments including AWS integration
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
Experience supporting mission-critical or government workloads
