Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a Windows Engineer (MCEM) to join their team! This role will maintain, upgrade, and secure Windows Server environments across a multi-site enterprise infrastructure. The ideal candidate has substantial hands-on experience with Windows Server administration, vSphere operations, GitLab pipelines, and SCCM, and can troubleshoot complex issues while ensuring compliance and system uptime.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex Windows Server OS issues to ensure optimal system performance
Upgrade and maintain Windows Server environments, including 2016, 2019, and 2022 versions
Utilize vSphere Operations and OVF Templates to manage and deploy virtual infrastructure
Create and manage templates using GitLab and Operating System pipelines
Use SCCM/ConfigMgr to build and deploy applications, packages, and Software Update Groups (SUGs)
Perform monthly patching for Windows Server 2012 through 2022
Conduct IAVA remediation and STIG hardening for OS server builds
Administer Group Policy (GPO), Active Directory (ADUC), and other Microsoft tools
Provide documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for operational use
Collaborate with global teams using tools like BMC Remedy ITSM and Service+
Perform advanced troubleshooting for security tools such as HBSS, Nessus Agent (ACAS), and Carbon Black
Requirements
5+ years of experience in Windows Server administration and support
Proven expertise in server upgrades, troubleshooting, and patching across multiple versions
Strong hands-on experience with vSphere, including deployment using OVF Templates
Proficiency with GitLab and OS pipeline automation
Experience with SCCM/ConfigMgr for application and update deployment
Familiarity with Group Policy, Active Directory, and Microsoft admin tools
Background in STIGs, IAVA remediation, and enterprise-level system hardening
Experience with incident and change management systems such as BMC Remedy or Service+
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional team setting
Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation
Prior experience with HBSS, Nessus Agent, and Carbon Black in a secure enterprise environment
