Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a Software Packaging Engineer to join their team! This role involves designing, building, and supporting large-scale, multi-domain enterprise Windows desktop environments in both virtual and physical client settings. The ideal candidate will support complex system integration across geographically dispersed locations and be involved in the full IT project lifecycle, including solution design, documentation, and ongoing maintenance.
Design and define system architecture for Windows desktop environments and client-based applications
Integrate Windows desktop solutions with various enterprise services
Evaluate desktop software and hardware for optimal implementation across enterprise networks
Administer and maintain virtual and physical Windows desktop deployments
Provide operational support for geographically dispersed, WAN-connected environments
Develop and execute upgrade plans for Windows desktop operating systems and supporting infrastructure
Review and implement system enhancements and provide recommendations to stakeholders
Requirements
Experience with MECM/MCM packages and deep knowledge of OSD, MDT, and Intune
Skilled in Microsoft Windows desktop design, engineering, and deployment
Proficient with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
Experience building and deploying client software installation packages for Windows desktops
Knowledge of application virtualization tools, including Citrix XenApp, Citrix App Layering, Microsoft APPV, and MSIX App Attach
Ability to support mobile laptop users and integrate antivirus and malware solutions into desktop builds
Education/Certification Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DFS, DNS, DHCP, and VMware Dynamic Environment Manager
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Office 365
Knowledge of Windows Server 2016 and 2019
PowerShell or other scripting experience for automation tasks
Experience with ServiceNow for task management
Understanding of DISA STIGs and maintaining system security compliance
