Responsibilities
Our client is looking for a Data Scientist to join their team! This role supports mission operations across the full intelligence lifecycle, ranging from requirements gathering to model development and insights communication. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in data analytics and visualization, as well as the ability to translate complex results into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and strong communication skills are key to success in this position.
- Support all phases of the intelligence lifecycle, including requirements collection, technical translation, and model evaluation
- Conduct exploratory data analysis and statistical assessments to identify trends and latent patterns
- Develop and maintain machine learning models with a focus on accuracy and relevance to mission objectives
- Build and deliver visually engaging and informative dashboards and infographics across multiple media platforms
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify appropriate data sources and infrastructure
- Leverage database knowledge to assess sources, determine indicators and relationships, and generate intelligence support packages
- Brief stakeholders and prepare visual and written reports tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Participate in architectural reviews and draft technical methodologies
- Document workflows and solutions to ensure consistent communication across teams
Requirements
4–6+ years of experience in data science, data analytics, or computer science
Proficiency in Python and associated data science libraries for data cleaning, EDA, and visualization
Experience using tools such as GitLab, Jupyter Notebooks, and R Studio
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools like Jira
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical results to diverse audiences
Education/Certification Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with the Intelligence Community (IC) and intelligence cycle
Experience working with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
Willingness and eagerness to continuously learn and adapt
Clearance Requirements
- Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active TS/SCI clearance is required.
