Senior Consultant – Red Hat Identity Management (IdM)

About The Job

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant specializing in Red Hat Identity Management (IdM) to design, implement, and maintain secure identity and access management solutions for enterprise environments. The consultant will work closely with client stakeholders to integrate IdM into existing infrastructure, supporting authentication, authorization, and directory services while ensuring compliance with security policies and performance requirements.

Job Duties:

• Lead the architecture, deployment, and configuration of Red Hat IdM/FreeIPA in enterprise environments.

   

• Integrate IdM with external identity providers (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP) for cross-domain trust and federation.

   

• Design and implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), smart card authentication, and multi-factor authentication.

   

• Implement and manage certificate-based authentication using Red Hat Certificate System (RHCS) or integrated PKI solutions.

   

• Troubleshoot complex issues related to identity synchronization, replication, trust relationships, and DNS integration.

   

• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure alignment with DoD STIGs, FISMA, and other security baselines.

   

• Develop and maintain documentation, configuration standards, and operational procedures.

   

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and system administrators.

   

• Participate in proposal development, level-of-effort estimation, and technical presentations when needed.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in Linux systems engineering or security engineering, with at least 3 years focused on IdM or FreeIPA.
• Expert-level knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), particularly around authentication and security services.

Hands-on experience with:

• Kerberos, SSSD, LDAP, and DNS integration
• Cross-forest trust between IdM and Microsoft Active Directory
• Certificate management, including internal PKI or external CA integration

• Familiarity with SELinux, firewalld, and related Linux security technologies.
• Scripting proficiency in Bash, Python, or Ansible for automation.
• Experience with DoD environments, FedRAMP, or other regulated sectors preferred.
